At TechAlpha Hub, we believe in the transformative power of technology education to shape the future of our youth. Our mission to bridge the technological divide has led us to the heart of secondary schools in Akwa Ibom State, where we aim to ignite a passion for tech skills among young minds. The journey of our school tour began at Community Comprehensive Secondary Ikot Eba in Etinan Local Government, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, and it has been nothing short of amazing.
A Day of Learning and Inspiration
The first school visit set the tone for our mission, as Ambassador Treasure Idem took the stage to educate the young adults on the benefits of acquiring technology skills. His lecture covered various aspects of tech education, including coding, web design, and copywriting. With enthusiasm and expertise, Ambassador Idem demonstrated practical examples of these skills, captivating the students and showing them the potential that lies within the world of technology.
Ambassador Idem’s session was not just a lecture but an interactive experience. He encouraged students to ask questions and engage with the material, fostering a dynamic learning environment. This approach not only made the session more engaging but also helped the students see the real-world applications of the tech skills being taught.
Highlight of the Day: Scholarship Award
One of the most memorable moments of the day was when Master Essien Ubong, the senior prefect of the school, answered a question by defining what coding is. His impressive response earned him a scholarship, awarded by TechAlpha Hub, to be trained in web development, web design with WordPress, and copywriting. This scholarship aims to provide Master Ubong with the resources and support he needs to further develop his skills and pursue a future in technology.
Gratitude and Promises of Partnership
The vice principal of academics at Community Comprehensive Secondary Ikot Eba, Mr. Orok, expressed his gratitude for the initiative. He acknowledged the significant impact that technology education can have on the students and promised to partner with TechAlpha Foundation to create lasting change. Mr. Orok’s commitment to collaborating with us reinforces our belief that together, we can build a tech-savvy generation ready to face the challenges of the future.
TechAlpha: Encouraging Future Tech Enthusiasts
Throughout the day, students were not only inspired but also encouraged to take concrete steps towards their tech education. Ambassador Idem highlighted the upcoming Tech Bootcamp, scheduled for the August long vacation. He urged students to register for this intensive program, where they will receive hands-on training in various tech disciplines. The bootcamp is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in tech skills, preparing them for future careers in the industry.
TechAlpha: The Road Ahead
Our school tour is just the beginning. We are committed to visiting all public and private secondary schools in Etinan Local Government Area before expanding our reach to other local government areas. Each visit is an opportunity to inspire, educate, and empower students, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed in the digital age.
